Why agencies switch

These are the reasons agencies and companies give us for using Kaspar alongside or instead of UptimeRobot:

  • Three kinds of checks in one service. Kaspar Pro covers websites, cron jobs (heartbeats) and broken links in one interface. A daily broken link scan of up to 25 sites with 2,000 pages each is included. UptimeRobot's pricing page lists no broken link scans.
  • Euro pricing without tiers. Kaspar costs €9 (Starter) or €24 (Pro) per month. UptimeRobot bills in US dollars and tiers its plans by monitor count.
  • Members at no extra cost. Kaspar Pro includes unlimited members per workspace, Starter up to 5. According to the vendor's website (as of October 2026), UptimeRobot's Team plan includes 3 login seats and charges for more.
  • Operated and hosted in Germany. For many client projects, a German provider with data stored in Germany is easier to document.
  • German interface. Kaspar is fully available in German and English.

When UptimeRobot is the better fit

UptimeRobot is clearly the better choice in some cases:

  • You need a free plan. According to the vendor's website (as of October 2026), the Free plan includes 50 monitors at 5-minute intervals. Kaspar has no free plan.
  • You want checks from multiple regions. UptimeRobot offers monitoring from four regions on paid plans. Kaspar checks from one location in Germany.
  • You need status pages or SMS and voice call alerts. UptimeRobot offers both; Kaspar currently does not.
  • You need intervals below 30 seconds or many monitor types. The Scale plan checks every 15 seconds, and UptimeRobot adds port, ping, UDP and DNS monitoring.

Moving from UptimeRobot to Kaspar

  1. Export or note your UptimeRobot monitors (URL, interval, expected status code, keyword).
  2. Create the monitors in Kaspar. Interval, status code and keyword check are set per monitor.
  3. Connect your alert channels: email, Slack or Telegram.
  4. Run both services in parallel for a few days and compare the alerts before you cancel.
  5. If you monitor cron jobs via heartbeats, replace the ping URL in your jobs with the Kaspar URL.
